Pune Election Results

The election department officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) have informed that the entire process of counting of votes on 17 February 2012 involving 76 prabhags / panels would take about six hours. The counting of votes in each panel will take about 45 to 50 minutes. The process will begin at 8 am and is expected that the results for all the prabhags / panels will be declared by 2 pm.

I couldn’t find any information about getting the Pune election results online. Also most of the election commission websites are in bad shape and user unfriendly.

However one would expect the results to be put up on one or more of these websites: http://www.mahasec.com/ OR http://www.punecorporation.org/ OR http://www.pmcelection.org/

Why Not Politics? asks Architect Anagha

Anagha Pranajape Purohit contesting from Prabhag 29 Pune

We often hear appeals from senior leaders & politicians that women & the educated youth of India should enter politics. We have with us Anagha Paranjape-Purohit who fulfills both  criteria and is contesting the Pune Corporation Elections from Prabhag 29 as an independent candidate.

With her education (Architect from Pune Univ. & Masters from Arizona, USA), profession (urban planner) and her ‘ordinary’ citizen / non-political background, she seems to have the right mix of things that the educated middle class looks for in a candidate.
