Kundali (Horoscope) burning at Mahatma Phule Wada. Protest against Astrology!

The Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti in a protest against astrology has undertaken a mass Kundali (Horoscope) burning event at 11am on 27th Feb 2012 at the Mahatma Phule Wada in Pune. Youngsters from across Pune will destroy their kundalis (horoscopes) in a symbolic protest against the growing influence & menace of astrology.

Along with a rejection of astrology, these youngsters will proclaim their belief in their own ability to chart their futures & their disregard & disbelief in any birth timings or star & planet positions based predictions.

The backdrop for this protest is the recent astrology driven family suicide in Pune. In case you wish to know more about why astrology is a sham & what’s the rationale & need for the rejection & protest against astrology, I would highly recommend that you watch these videos on “Astrology Examined” by Dr. Narendra Dabholkar. Tiger in South India

Save Our Tigers! Click the Tiger to Join In!

Children today are very aware of the imminent threat to tigers from poachers and from the loss of their jungles. We hope, respectfully, to remind adults to protect and preserve this vital heritage for generations unborn. As always, a key focus for Kids for Tigers will be to “protect the protectors” by winning public support for our brave forest guards and others working to save wild tigers on a daily basis. In the process, virtually all plants and animals that share the tiger’s habitat will receive protection.

With this spirit of wildlife conservation, Kids for Tigers, Pune along with the Vasundhara International Film Festival 2012 and with ‘Sakal’ newspaper group, is organising a ‘Tiger Rally’, the purpose of which will be to raise awareness about the importance of saving the tiger and its forests on Saturday, February 25th 2012.
